Project Description
The project, which covers 11,421 hectares, aims to establish the necessary infrastructure for automating the existing hydraulic network in the Cota-120 Irrigation Zone, integrating the system under a single management model with the other irrigated zones in Campo de Cartagena. This modernization will optimize the use of available water resources and reduce energy consumption, improving the efficiency of the current system.
The area where the project is being developed covers the municipal districts of San Pedro del Pinatar, San Javier, Murcia, Fuente Álamo, Torre Pacheco and Cartagena, in Murcia.
The project entails the following main actions:
– Construction of two pumping stations and improvement of another.
– Construction of three reservoirs and improvement and adaptation of other existing ones.
– Main transport network.
– Distribution network.
– Telecommunications and control.
